Just before the developers left for the day they let me know that after fixing most of the bugs, ImageSpark was finally ready for the second last leg of the process, internal testing. We actually started doing some testing a few weeks ago but it wasn’t real because the Dev team said that when it came time for the real testing, all the information that was being uploaded was going to get wiped. So there wasn’t much I could do… until today…

Well here I am again (just over 2 months since I first mentioned what was being brewed) straight up giddy from the excitement of finally being able to taste this new project. What started out just as an idea, or should I say a dream, has blossomed into something more beautiful than I could ever have imagined… well actually I could have imagined it but am just amazed that the boys over @ Teehan+Lax actually believed in the idea enough to be the ones to bring it to fruition.

It’s a rare thing, but since this is my blog and I can say whatever the fuck I was to say… every now and then I have to gloat and take pride in the few certain things that I truly believe in and that I’m really proud of. Before Inquiringmind Magazine launched in 2006 I was talking to a few close friends about it, because I could barely contain my excitement… it was something new, something fresh, and something that was bigger than itself. It’s been 3 years now and some of the responses still blow me away.

So how does ImageSpark stack up by comparison. Well Inquiringmind is a very niche culture platform and there are only so many people who can truly appreciate the way we do things with Inqmnd, but ImageSpark… well this thing is a beast of it’s own kind. It’s a platform that I honestly believe talks to not just one corner, but all corners of every creative community. I believe that ImageSpark is THE ABSOLUTE BEST TOOL FOR CREATIVE PROFESSIONALS and non professionals alike. Make it a part of your daily life. Save your favorite images from your favorites websites and create your own place of inspiration, a room to go into whenever you feel the need to be inspired.

Now, keep in mind that there are a million niche websites that provide inspirational content, but ImageSpark isn’t here to replace or to compete with them. ImageSpark is a tool that allows you to harness all the inspiration around you to help fuel your work. Whether your a Graphic Designer, an Illustrator, a Fashion Designer or a Photographer… it doesn’t matter. ImageSpark is about bringing together all the things that inspire you. It’s that simple.

In the weeks to come, we’ll be continuing our internal testing trying to make sure all the loose ends are tied. So my suggestion to you would be to start compiling, if you haven’t already done so, all your inspirational images into a single folder, so that when the site goes live you can start uploading your favorite and most inspirational images.

Until then, keep fit and have fun!

Based out of the United Kingdom, Holger Pooten is a photographer who truly understands the strength of the narrative and the power of the concept, and he obviously has a thorough knowledge of strobe photography and the various lighting techniques required to create that dramatic shot. Now the honest truth of the matter is that I’m not really sure if he came up with the concepts himself.
“The Knob Light by designer Jeong-Sun Park adds a new functional dimension to door knobs that will put an end to fumbling in the dark, trying to open the door on your way to the bathroom.

The Knob Light is essentially a door knob with an internal generator that stores energy. This energy is then used to illuminate at night, making it the perfect night light.

I like the idea of utilizing kinetic energy that would otherwise go to waste (opening and closing doors), but I have reservations about the fragility of the design and how comfortable it would feel in a hand grip. But this could be solved with a good choice of material for the ‘bulb.’” – Trend Hunter Magazine…
