A BIG day for the US, and the rest of the world. Just like Kevin Garnett, who was always a dope player but was never official until he won a ring, Obama is officially next level. Congrats! More photos over at The Big Picture.

Where do I begin… Well, for starters he comes full accessorized with the traditional Presidential fixings & trimmings like an American flag, a podium & microphone for giving speeches as well as interchangeable hand molds for creating various gestures. But when shit really hits the fan, he also comes full loaded with a Snub Nose pistol, a 9mm automatic, a military grade machine gun, as well as a shot gun for those closer combat situations. And if all else fails, he also comes equipped with a flesh melting Light Saber…

With this historical presidential inauguration only 1 day away there’s been more than your fair share of media outlets discussing and lingering over every little detail leading up to that final moment. What he’s wearing, where he’s going, what he’s gonna eat for breakfast, what it all means etc, etc, etc. But the coolest thing that I’ve read since he won the election isn’t being discussed to any real extent (not that it needs to be) but is something that amazed me regardless. The Presidents’ last line of defense. That’s right, his whip. The one that gets him from point A to point B, C & D without a worry in the world. In case you thought you’d have a chance at taking out America’s first black president, think again. This $400,000 ride comes fully loaded with 8 inch armor plating, combination windshield glass made with bits of titanium, steel and even bits of ceramic for superior durability… Kevlar reinforced shred-and-puncture resistant wheels, 5 inch plating underneath to protect from car bombs, on-board night vision cameras, pump action shot guns, not to mention bottles of the Presidents blood just in case he needs a transfusion… tear gas, a foldaway laptop with Wi-Fi, a satellite phone with direct access to the VP as well as the Pentagon, oh and let’s not forget the trained CIA assassin driver for those times when shit actually does down. But when it comes to being a “green” vehicle this whip is a giant Failboat… it only gets 8 miles to the gallon. But I guess that’s the price of an American revolution.

I come from the school of thought that the line between being inspired and stealing is pretty black & white. Streetwear has a knack for flipping artwork from renowned artists and making it their own. In the real world most people would consider this stealing but for those who understand streetwear, understand that if it’s done right then it’s all good. If it’s done wrong, then you’ve got some explaining to do. Such is the case with this tee from those crazy Mishka cats, who’ve decided to flip the Black Bart artworks to create their own Obama inauguration piece. Uh, if you Mishka cats are listening I’d like to throw down an order for one white tee, size large please.

NPPA – Photojournalist and NPPA member Pete Souza has accepted the position of official White House photographer for President-elect Barack Obama, he told News Photographer magazine tonight. Souza received the offer for the position from Robert Gibbs, the new president’s longtime spokesman who is also Obama’s incoming White House press secretary. It won’t be Souza’s first time in the Oval Office. He was also a White House photographer during President Ronald Reagan’s second term. Souza, 54, said he accepted the offer today after talking with Gibbs and reaching an agreement that the primary function of the White House photography office will be to document Obama’s presidency for the sake of history. Gibbs is a close advisor to Obama, a member of the new president’s transition team, and made the offer to Souza this weekend on behalf of the President-elect.
Check out some of the photos from his best selling book “The Rise of Barack Obama”…
