Early last week I was tapped to participate in an interesting little project created by my friend Marcus Troy, in collaboration with one of his favorite footwear companies––Puma. As Marcus outlined in the prologue of his project, he wanted to create a showcase of photographic reinterpretations of how people today would rock a pair of Puma Suedes––originally popularized by many New York City natives around the ’70s and ’80s. Click through to see how I decided to piece it all together…

It all starts with a solid foundation, and in this particular case, a pair of red Puma Clyde’s. Up next? The pants. I was toying around with rocking some shorts but it just wasn’t t-shirt and shorts weather yet. Having said that, and considering that I’m from Toronto (which means camouflage runs in my blood) what better way to compliment a dope pair of red kicks than with an equally dope pair of slim-cut Tiger Camouflage pants.

Red shoes and camouflage pants usually combine to make enough of a statement, so I decided to throw on a simple yellow v-neck tee to keep from going overboard. But the look was still lacking something. It needed a bit more character.

So I decided to throw on this lightweight navy/white paisley polo scarf to add just a bit more texture. And seeing as how details are everything, I chose to finish it with a piece of woven leather that I usually wear as a bracelet ;)

Echo a bit of my neck detailing on my wrist for some balance…
