A couple weeks ago, Meghan and I sporadically decided to drive to Seattle and check it out. I didn’t take as many photos as I normally do because taking photos sometimes feels like such a task. Regardless, here are a few of the shots from that weekend.

Since August, there’s been a lot of “things” going on around me that’s needed my attention, to which being digitally social and blogging come a close second to. Of those “things” that have been keeping me from sharing all the other wonderful things I usually share with you on this blog, Starcraft II has proved to be hardest to detach myself from. I’m not terribly bad or good, but I’m really trying hard to get better… which is why I’m so hooked. It takes up essentially all my free time.
I understand that this activity is completely counter to everything else in my life… it’s very time consuming and completely unproductive. But the more I think about it the more I realize that I could use a sprinkle more of things that have nothing more than pure entertainment value. I don’t go out partying, I rarely eat out, I don’t watch television, and I don’t play video games. I’m a shopaholic and I play Starcraft.
So there you have it. My big secret is out. And now that you know, feel free to laugh and point… because me writing this post is me being comfortable with knowing that this is nerdy and unproductive and isn’t what a “hustler” does, but you know what… at least I’m man-ing up.
If anyone wants to “add me” to their Starcraft account, feel free to do so. My handle is “boroughbaby” and my character code is “980″… I’m always down for a game.

Last night was an epic night for Vancouver as Canada’s first rapper to go platinum in the US graced the west coast with his east coast swag. This was my first time seeing him perform live and to tell you the truth, it wasn’t bad.

I’ve been an active member on this fashion community website called Weardrobe for a couple months now. As the story goes my apartment was and still is completely empty. I had set up my lights when I first moved in and decided that it’d be an interesting idea start documenting what I wore everyday. Not everyday but at least on those days where I liked what I was wearing. That way whenever I didn’t have the time or energy to think of something original to wear I could just reach into my library, browse my personal catalog and pick something out. I told my co-worker about this and she suggested that I should upload the photos to this site Weardrobe… so I did. I became a member, started contributing, and started consuming as well. It’s now been a couple months and the cool thing about this site, similar to what happened with me and Flickr, is that it began motivating me to dress better and be more conscience of what I was wearing. One day Weardrobe hit me up and decided they wanted to do an interview with me. Obviously I said yes so here it is, in all it’s glory…

After 5 months of living with literally no furniture to speak of (unless you consider a lamp furniture) this past weekend I finally got the balls to throw down for a real piece furniture. I felt really sorry for my bed who’s had to handle everything from sitting and eating 3 times a day, to lying and watching movies, to sleeping. That’s a lot more than any bed should be doing. But as of today my bed will finally be an actual bed. Now, to bring my place full circle, all I have to do to is get a coffee table, some bar stools and hang up some pictures. Then I think my place will start to feel less like a depressing hole and more like a home.
P.S. – Did I mention it’s a sofa bed? Now my peeps have a Vancouver crash pad. Ya’ll know who you are.

I can only show you the door. You’re the one that has to walk through it.

Started my day off by heading down to the newly opened Inventory Shop. If Vancouver isn’t careful we may have a new boss in town. I wasn’t planning on shopping but ended up leaving with a pair of Quoddy’s and a little sumthin’ sumthin’ from Margaret Howell. Super dope shit… very limited quantities though.

After living 5 months with absolutely no furniture I’ve finally felt inspired to go out and start the process of finding those things large and small that make your apartment/condo/whatever feel like a home. I really don’t need anything more that what I already have. A box spring, a mattress, and some kitchenware. But the truth is that my apartment, in it’s current form, isn’t a place where I want to be… but I want to want to be there. So as I do with most things, I went ahead and selected some of my favorite images from my Image Spark account and threw together a mood board that I’ll use as context when looking at furniture. Cause lord knows it’s almost impossible to shop for furniture without having some sort of direction in mind. I’ve already done the Ikea maze and left the building feeling worse than when I started. Anyways… click here for a larger view.

thought…

You can’t become something unless you begin something. And you’ll never be good at something unless you do it over and over and over again… even if it means constant failure.
We all have aspirations, hopes, dreams–whatever you want to call them. It could be starting a clothing line or writing a book… it could be anything. But we’re too often held back by the fear of rejection, the fear of creating something of inconsequence or producing something that’s just flat out shitty. This fear prevent us from even trying.
