Unveiled at the North American International Auto show as a concept car, the Cadillac Converj (yes, with a J) is being reported to have made its way past the paperwork to become an actualized vehicle starting production at the end of 2010. It’s basically a Chevy Volt with a much tighter shell and a more advanced version of the Volt E-Rev system that’s now being dubbed “Volt-Tech”…

Some of its details include 273p/f of torc and a top speed of 100mph. The electric motor is the only source of power for the wheels as the engines’ sole function is to create electrical energy for when the battery runs dry. It can travel up to 40 miles on electricity alone before the engine is needed.

The interior is made up of white synthetic suede and black leather. Aluminized wood makes up the trim, the carpet is a wool blend and the headliner is silk. Touchscreen controls for the navigation, climate control and audio system make up a cluster of OLED lights as its interior console.

When all is said and done, the rumours start this car in the $60-70k range. For more information, check out some of the videos on Google here.
